Privacy Policy

We don't keep a database of your case.
TenantRecourse has no customer database. If you only generate the free letter, your information never leaves your browser and our servers store nothing about you. If you pay us to mail the letter, your order details are carried inside the payment record and the mailing record so we can fulfill it — and nowhere else.
What we collect
To build and mail your letter, you give us:
- Your name and current mailing address
- Your landlord's name and mailing address
- The rental address, deposit amount, and move-out date
- Whatever you type in the optional description box
- Your email address, if you buy the mailing or join a waitlist
We never see or handle your card. Payment details go directly to Stripe, our payment processor.
How we use it
Only to do the thing you asked for: generate your letter, print and mail it, email you the copy and tracking number, and process a refund if the mailing fails. We do not sell your information, rent it, or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Four service providers, each receiving only what it needs to do its part:
- Stripe processes your payment and holds your order details in the payment record so we can fulfill it.
- Lobprints your letter and hands it to USPS. It receives your name and address, your landlord's name and address, and the letter text.
- Resend delivers the emails we send you.
- Anthropic rewrites the optional description box into formal prose. It receives onlythat free-text paragraph — never your name, your address, your landlord's details, your email, or your payment information. If you leave the box blank, nothing is sent to Anthropic at all.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
How long it's kept
We keep nothing ourselves beyond ordinary server logs, which record technical details of requests and are discarded on our host's normal schedule. Your order data persists in Stripe's payment records and Lob's mailing records under their retention policies, which are longer than ours because financial and mail records have their own legal requirements.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how it's used — and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Write to kendall12236@gmail.com and we will respond. Because we hold so little directly, most requests are satisfied by asking our processors to delete their copies.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Stripe sets cookies necessary to process payment and prevent fraud during checkout.
Children
This service is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy materially we will update the effective date above.
