Free licences for tenant organisations

If you organise renters, run a hotline, or hand out know-your-rights material, you can use these tools with the people you serve for free — permanently, and without asking anyone's permission first.

Why free

Because the useful part was never the data. Statute deadlines and citations are facts, and anyone can copy a fact. What takes work is keeping them true — Colorado's penalty rules changed on January 1 and most summaries still describe the old ones; Texas moved its statute site and every source link on the internet pointing at the old URL now opens a blank page. Somebody has to notice. That is the part worth having, and it is worth more to an organisation with a hotline than to us with a price list.

The terms

All of them. There is no longer version, and nothing to sign.

• Free, with no end date. If this ever becomes a paid product, existing partners stay free.
• Your members use the letter tools exactly as anyone else does — free to generate and download, in English or Spanish. Nothing is gated behind your membership and nothing asks whether they are a member.
• You get a page here carrying your name, what you do, a link to your site, and the verified law for your states. You can link to it, print it, or ignore it.
• We will not email your members, ask for your member list, or put your logo on anything without asking first.
• You are not endorsing us and we are not acting as your lawyer or theirs. We are a document preparation service, not a law firm, and every page here says so.
• If we get a figure wrong, tell us and we fix it publicly on the corrections page — with credit to whoever caught it, if they want it.
• Either of us can end this by saying so. The page comes down within a week.

Asking

Email hello@tenantrecourse.com and say which state your people are in. A real person reads it.

Worth checking first: not every state is covered for every problem, and the honest answer matters more than a yes. Look up what we actually have for your state before you spend time on this. If your state is thin, tell us — that is useful to know and it is how the next state gets built.
